Il M°Fernando Sarmento ha iniziato a praticare Karate nella scuola di karate Bushidokan a Oporto il 3 ottobre 1971 sotto la guida del M°Antonio Cacho. Fin dal principio il M°Fernando Sarmento ha partecipato a tutti gli allenamenti tenuti dal M°Tetsuji Murakami in Portogallo.
Nel 1972 il M°Murakami lo incoraggiò ad aprire un nuovo dojo in CUFP (oggi UNICER) dove insegnò fino al 1974. Il 9 settembre 1974 venne inaugurata la scuola Murakami a Maia. La scuola fu creata sotto le linee guida del M°Murakami in persona. Il M°Sarmento insegna a tutt’oggi in questo dojo.
Il M°Sarmento ha conseguito il 3° Dan in un esame ufficiale del M°Murakami.
Il M°Sarmento è stato membro del consiglio tecnico nazionale, scelto dal M°Murakami; fu inoltre coordinatore tecnico nazionale dell’ASP dopo la morte del M°Murakami. Attualmente è membro del National Council of Graduations e supervisore tecnico dell’area settentrionale del ASP, dove coordina 7 dojo.
Il M°Sarmento ha formato dozzine di cinture nere e istruttori e ha diretto numerosi corsi intensivi.
È’ insegnante di secondo livello della Federazione Nazionale Portoghese di karate.
Ha ottenuto il grado di 4°Dan e si sta preparando per conseguire il 5°Dan presso il Nihon Karate-Do Shotokai.
FERNANDO SARMENTO began is Karate practice in the Karate School Bushidokan in Oporto, on October 3rd, 1971, under the guidance of Master Antonio Cacho. From the very beginning Fernando Sarmento attended all the courses under the leadership of Master Tetsuji Murakami, in Portugal.
In 1972 Master Murakami encourages him to open a new “dojo” in CUFP (today UNICER) where he was instructor until 1974. On September 9th, 1974, Murakami School of Maia is inaugurated. This space was specifically built under the guidelines of the Master Murakami himself. Fernando Sarmento still teaches in this “dojo” today.
He received 3rd Dan in a formal exam chaired by Master Murakami.
Master Sarmento was a member of the National Technical Council, chosen by Master Murakami and he was also National Technical Coordinator of ASP after the death of Master Murakami. Currently he is member of the National Council of Graduations and technical supervisor of the Northern Region of ASP, where he coordinates seven “dojos”.
Master Sarmento formed dozens ok black belts and instructors and directed numerous intensive courses.
He is Trainer Level II from the National Federation of Karate Portugal's.
He has the graduation of 4th Dan and is preparing his 5th Dan graduation at Nihon Karate-Do Shotokai.
